Why Science is so hard to believe?

Link: Textbook disclaimer stickers.

I became so mad after reading this that I forgot reading the rest of the page. This is a lesson for life for me. Thanks to the readers who reminded me this. But I think the spoofs are showing the real perception of some towards science! In fact what I did in reflecting my wrong perception of this site was truly against scientific disciplines! see what I wrote first:
What is wrong with these people? This is outrageous! Look at the one that says: “This book suggests that the earth is spherical. The shape of the earth is controversial(!) topic, and not all people accept the theory!!” and this is from a nation that has Hubble space telescope! This one is interesting: “This book promoted the theory of plate tectonics, the gradual movement of the major land masses. Because nobody observed this process!!, …” hey, what do you think was the cause of the recent Tsunami or your own Mount St. Helens eruption? Should you actually SEE things with your eyes? But it is interesting that they reserve the right for those who do not believe in science and this is a good point. But why these people are so reluctant to trust science? I don’t get this!

See where you got started

Link: Atlas of the Human Journey - The Genographic Project.

WOW! This is extraordinary. Actually, I have been thinking of getting to know this long time ago. This project is helping us to understand our genetic history. Isn't it great? First chance I get, I will participate. They should make a weblog or a community for their members so you can find other genetic relatives.

Hey Buddy! You may have a PC of your own Genes!

Link: Researchers use enzyme to clip DNA wires for computer parts | Science Blog.

Nice news about advancements in computer research. The report says that people are testing DNA chips for electrical properties so they can make future computer parts. It is not revealed that what will be other advantages but there should be more to come. Imagine going to the PCWorld to see computers aided with genes and see prices according to IQ of the gene owner J

Asia quake disaster

BBC NEWS | In Depth | 2004 | Asia quake disaster

On the day in which Bam earthquake hit Iran last year, now a Tsunami has brought disaster to a big portion of South Asia. The biggest quake in 40 years on Earth! The images I saw today were horrifying and even imagining being in the citation trembles my bones. Hope that international community to help immediately.

Why US does not want to lead the war against global warming?

BBC NEWS Science/Nature Future climate talks deal agreed

That is strange to see that the Bush administration claims to be working towards world peace and at the same time rejected the international requests for joining the Kyoto agreement for reducing greenhouse gases. They are very busy smoking out Bin-Laden from his caves in Afghanistan so they are forgetting this fact that this smoke may cause their own lovely Alaska to melt down! They are trying to inject democracy to the Middle-Esat but do not care if some of the small nations in Australasia disappear from the maps as a result of sea level rise. Mr. Behi has always admired American leadership in science and research and the way this mature management has been bringing together all the mean for the advancement of science and technology that helps all the human beings. The strange thing is that US urges other nations to corporate whenever he likes (post war Iraq) but when it comes to accepting the requests from other nations, there it comes the No, No from the US! Anyway, why US, China and Russia do not sign the treaty against land mines??

Waited to be wasted

Today, Mr. Behi was riding a cab to his office in one of the most crowded streets of Tehran (where he lives). This is city where you can find cars that manufactured more that 40 years ago along side with brand new models! Cars seem to be everlasting here and Mr. Behi wonders why the old fashioned, inefficient cars are wasting this precious wealth of fossil fuels. The cab stopped for a traffic light alongside one of those historic so-called vehicles where he became blessed by a pack of smoke from it’s exhaust. He thought for a moment that those drops of petrol waited millions of years down the Earth to become pollutants of their own origin (Earth). Mr. Behi just tried to have the window shut trying not to meet with the smoky result of human ignorance!
