You snooze (or not) you loose (anyway)

It is hard for many to think of voting and I can find the above statement true in any combination presented except the orogonal form sadly! Reformists have very adorable promises this time and are trying to let people know that they are now very different and in fact are more persistent on their reformist demands. In this haphazard where empty promises is a common stock to sell by the candidates, reformists are felt as the most honest but honesty does not really mean capability. The idea behind the reformists is more or less the same as demands of many people but a reformist president with good will to change but not enough power to implement it, will make the idea behind the reform lonelier than it is now. This feeling that “you loose anyway” is felt by many in Iran for whom the divergence between their thoughts with the way politics work is becoming too wide to be filled

Here's the story of people in Iran. The king promises a dinner party open to the public to feast one morning. Happy crowds of people show up. They are immediately arrested, lashed and tortured. While they are gone the king's henchmen (and women!) set fire at people’s houses and steal their livestock and corn. After the ordeal is over, the king appears on the balcony and announces to the baffled and tattered people "Let the feast begin". So food and drinks are spread among the mouths of hunger and thirst. When all the food is eaten and the bottles are emptied, people are sent back home at midnight only to discover the ashes of their assets. Here's the kick though. The last comment of the day you'll hear spreading among the mumbling crowd is, "at least we got to eat the king's food"!!! Go figure!

During all these years I just try to avoid dealing with politics and other related topics although it seems impossible to live it Iran and do not grapple with political issues. Anyway, 8 years ago I was one of the eagerest adherents of Khatami. I remember very well how my classmates and I encouraged other to take part in the presidential election and vote for him. I did the same 4 years later for his second presidency. But now, also I believe in gradual reforms, I find it completely ineffective to participate in an election.
The thing that really surprises me is that many of my university classmates are still insist on taking part in the election and vote for Moeen. Maybe I am very pessimistic, but does it really work? I don’t like to see my country under the footprints of other countries’ soldiers and also I can not stand to see my country to be boycotted by America. So what is the solution? Vote for Moeen, Hashemi,..or just forget about the election?
