The anti-democrats

Link: Gains for Democracy Could Jolt Iran's Theocrats and America's Neocons

This fantastic article by Norman Solomon is a must read for many Iranians who love Bush to come and rescue them. It is really sensible here in Iran and the last case was yesterday when the national TV was so excited about Bush recent speech against the election (I am not implying that the content of his speech was wrong) but it was the biggest gift Bush could give the conservatives who are always waiting for such speeches to call the United States a number one enemy of the nation by heating up and misusing the sense of patriotism among the people.
See Norman's blog
See the post I sent some months ago about this.
Update: I have just read this article in Rooz online also about this issue.

I just cant seriously believe that there are iranians out there wishing an american ivasion. Let me say this, NO real iranian would want their country to be invaded, for me even if satan was ruling our country, i still wouldnt want america to come and "free" me. because we all know america is the "great satan". we got a taste of their freedom when they supported saddam against us. thankyou america for promoting democracy.

Mr. Behi says: :-)

It's the usual liberal rants. As soon as something goes wrong, it's Bush's fault!

This is really funny.

Many Iranian people didn't participate on this election because they don't believe the guardian council can choose their candidates for them.

If you fail to realize this, then all you have to do it blame it on Bush.

Crazy people.

Mr. Behi says: I just mentioned this as an example and do not blame everything on Bush. But you admit that the clerics here love harsh words from the US to repeat their crazy viewes on the west. I am pro-western myself and always get mad at the IRI because of this unrealistic unti-american slogans. This was not to be generalized. Thanks for commenting. Cool down! We are practicing democracy here in this place for commenting. please come back.

Dear Mr. Behi,

I didn't mean anything personal to you and I realize that You were only reporting it and if my post was hard, I have to apologize.

That said, in my mind, the whole 'because Bush sent a message Iranians went to vote', just pathetic.

Because let me re-phrase you :But you admit that the clerics here love harsh words from the US to repeat their crazy views on the west

Just -exactly- what did President Bush say that you are labeling it here as 'harsh', Harsh for whom?

If you mean those were 'harsh' for Iranians, I can surely tell you that the bloggers and political students in jail will welcome any little voice from outside to support them. Whether it's from capitalist Bush or from communist China or The Sultan of Canary Island.

The mullahs keep Iranians youth in jail and a brave American President who unlike Mr. Clinton has the guts to speak out his mind about the tyranny of mullahs, show his solidarity with Iranian people who are under the repression of mullahs for 25 years.

I still don't realize how this, can, in the mind of any ordinary Iranian be a bad sign? Liberals like to nail down Bush and We, Iranians should be careful to don't pour oil for their fire.

Many people like to misuse what Bush says. Yesterday was Iraq, Today is Iran.

It's our 3 minutes fame.

But then, when there are several demonstrations just days before the elections by women

When there are still, as we speak, people gathering outside the Evin Prison, the family of Mr. Nasser Zar Afshan and other political prisoners. As we speak. They are outside Evin.

What is this world reporting, Mr. Behi?

"Iranians flock to vote after Bush called Iranian election 'undemocratic' "

This is Mr. Behi, what I call pathetic.

It's not 'harsh' for Ahmad Batebi or Mojtaba Sami'i nejad or any other political prisoner or blogger.

None of the other Presidents of this Big Free World bother to say anything against this tyranny and when 1 is daring to talk, others are looking at him strangely.

George Bush did what he had to.

He expressed his solidarity with Iranian people in their struggle to get a democratic state.

Whether mullahs with the help of liberals like to misuse this and connect the dots to war and 1001 other things, it's another issue.

George Bush paid his tribute to Iranian struggle and expressed his respect. As any other sane politican would do the same.

Those who didn't what George Bush did, are certainly in fear of losing something if mullahs are gone.

Again I am not aiming at you personally and just making a point that lots of people are Bush haters and they don't care if they distort the facts today about our country.

The only thing they care is 3-minutes hot news.

Not a mullah supporter

But the mullahs continue to deliver blows to the americans regarding their desire for regime change.
bush being the idiot that he is, is playing right into the hands of the mullahs. By raising tensions with the nuclear issue, and ensuing american intimidation, bullying and lack of respect for iran, the mullhas have rallied their base support in iran, which is massive in small towns and rural areas.

the pasdarana and their religious foundations are gathering support and branding these american actions as yet another attempt of foreign interfearence in iranian affairs, meant to weaken iran and to satisfy the imperial and evil intentions of america.

they're also claiming democracy and freedom is incompatible with islamic culture and values.
these are against the ideology of velayat e faqhih and interpretation of law according to islamic laws.
this will take decades to overcome, they'll use these tactics and ideas to hinder refrom in iran for years to come.

the process is slow people, combining western ideology and rules of law with islam in the heart of middle east is not an easy process. its failed before many times and this time it'll be very slow and painful.
