Monsters Inc.

These days the hard liners, who believe in more social limitation and stricter foreign policy, cannot hide their happiness for the election of the new president of their kind. Rumours are everywhere anticipating the upcoming retreat to the atmosphere of early revolution. Ahmadi Nejad himself vowed for a moderate government in his news conference but his supporters are insisting that it is time to get back to principals!
Frightening people looks adorable to them, as it seems. Having foreign enemies for defending them we should stay united (that mean shut up if you have something to say against us otherwise you are a spy). They need enemies to survive. Suppose if one day we make peace with the US, many of them have little to say in their speeches. I hope they discover one day that bringing peace and letting other ideas to talk happily can make a better world firstly for them, themselves. They are humans anyway. Oil is in price peak so I hope they can make some economic difference as they claimed in their campaign.

Thanks for this most insightful analysis of escapgoating and survival. This tactic of suppressing the domestic enemies on the pretext of fighting the foreign ones is an old Soviet/Nazi tactic. It is the Orwellian 1984 syndrom, but the question is for how long it might work.

I was also thinking if you think China' presence in Iran might increase as a result.

Are you observing/feeling any changes? I think these people just love power more than anything else (peace,money,good-lives,etc), and loving showing it or using it on any pretext. So, religion, economy, etc, are just some excuses they invent to come to power so that they can control everything and thus show their power.

But then the world is changing. 2005's Iran is not same as '79's Iran and thus we can keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Hello ....

Iran's election and our's/America's and the "talk/speeches" from those who won, seem strangely similar. What do you think?

I have heard and read summaries of the author's book called, "The Longest Emergency," who posulates we will need to invest and use more nuclear power for our energy needs. My greatest concern is what do we do with the waste? What are Iran's plans for the waste?

Thank you for your time.

Take care ....

Peace

What you say is what is happening in Venezuela right now: if you are against the goverment, you are a CIA spy or something similar. It's incredible how certain behaviours don't depend on cultural differences...

Mr.Behi says: You are very true! Dictatorships are very much behaving the same way. I have a friend here from Vnezuela and he says despite all this poverty and corruption, government recieves 70% approval in elections. That is why your president is a close friend of current Iranian government :-)
