Condoleezza Rice and filling the freedom gap; Big bounce ahead for the Elastigirl!

While ago when secretary Rice was addressing at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris, it was amazing to see the words that always looked very simplistic when spoken out by George Bush, were being asserted within an academic framework, by using examples and mentioning historical backbones for the ideas and events. “Our charge is clear: We on the right side of freedom's divide have an obligation to help those unlucky enough to have been born on the wrong side of that divide”, she said. It is not very clear that why Europe- which is exemplified as a part of the right side- could not initially convince itself to agree with recent implementation of this idea, The war in Iraq. The universal rule of freedom as introduced in her speech is not only a vital principal to understand but is also a way of life to learn. This vision that freedom barriers can be crumbled like wall of Berlin is not as universal as freedom though. Bombing dictators may burn the flag of dictatorship for a while but the immature cultures will bring a new face with the same behavior. Iran had rulers who held different titles but the way they betrayed right of their people remained more or less the same. The questionable thing is to see the result of sudden collapse of dictators in the long run. Can the culturally disabled people practice democracy in a way Rice thinks they should? Let the people push the border. We need resistance and patience, not a flash bulldozer.

How to hear just one voice when there are so many tongues and even more ears?

President Bush mentioned this in one of his recent addresses to European community implying that world should talk in a unified manner with Iranian government so they can see no place for compromise in relinquishment of their nuclear development program. This is true on papers but even if Europe and US reach such unity –considering the fact that Europe is already bribed by vast economic opportunities in Iran hence France and Italy should kiss their money goodbye in case of any sanctions- that voice will not be interpreted equally through the layers of power in Iran. Europe will not read a clear response from Iran as some layers of power strictly reject any obligations from outside while others sit and talk in Vienna and give nice promises (that can never materialize). Who really makes decisions in Iran? Tell me if you ever can manage to think that you might have some idea!

If you can type freely, think of those who can’t!

Today is announced by Iranian Bloggers as Free Mojtaba and Arash Day. The two bloggers who were arrested by Iranian government because of the content of their weblogs. Give you links ad words for support if you care about the toughts that were jailed.

You snooze we loose! How much shake is needed to wake you up?

Another Earthquake happened today in Iran and reports of death tolls have been looming up since morning. While our government is trying to keep its nuclear program, people die as a result of its ignorance towards people’s safety. A rich country left under the authority of handful of totally out of mind people who think of everything but the future of the nation. What happened to that millions of dollars you got as aid from international communities after Bam earthquake? Shouldn’t you spend that for precautions at least in the same province? Tehran is a city of 14 millions. Do you even care?

Let there be light, religions for which you fight!

Looking around we now see how these beliefs give people enough clue to kick others around the world. No matter how advanced they are, societies find it easier to march against each other using faith as a weapon. Al Quida says America is against GOD, America says this is a mission from GOD to do this and that. Palestinians believe that GOD has given them this land so it is for their faith they want to have it back and so does Israeli. Iranian government is one the typical examples, they like the entire world to know that they are different because they belive in GOD in a very special way! Religion is a hide out for those who cannot convince others with logical views. At least it is like this here.

Caught in a systematic chaos; Iran is locked where she doesn’t deserve

Iran is experiencing one of the coldest winters in years. Surprising snowfall in Tehran and some other cities in the northern part of the country, revealed the vulnerability of our emergency response plans. Struggling to provide a decent service even in normal conditions, many of the essential suppliers (power, water and gas) failed to cope with a meter and so of snow! Imagine you are living in a country with the second largest gas reserves of the whole world and you experience gas shortage in the capital! Won’t you be red to ears? When you live hear, if everything is goes fine, then something must be wrong! People are so accustomed to inefficiency that it looks like normal. There is virtually no care about the well being of the people among the elected ones who are supposed to serve them in the first place. Government is so busy with politics in and out of the country and wastes so much money from oil export. Iran now is like a naughty problem child who wants to attract attention by making lots of noises. He spends a lot to hire a limo so he can go to the dining of the adults while he still is to learn how to tide up his pants. Do we need nuclear independence? What if you spend this money for better patrolling the road so they cannot claim 25000 lives annually? How many more earthquakes should trigger till the government realizes that for saving lives, it should move its butt and do something? (Go to the most recent post)

New Conservatives of Iran and America, How the birds of drastically different feather, can in one way flock together?

Imagine a nutcracker, in the middle; there is this precious Persian hazelnut (Iranian society). Each of the legs (governments of Iran and America) thinks it is responsible for the nut’s safety. They are both forcing forward awaiting confrontation, imagining that the hazelnut will be preserved the way they like after they meet and crash the other leg and force it out from the battlefield. Imagine how we feel in Iran, like that poor hazelnut! How can we like any of the legs? To whom in this world we need to talk if we do not want to support either of them and frankly, is there any space left for us to do this support if we like to? ...

Farewell England!

Moments before writing this, I took off from London Heathrow airport back to Tehran. As the Plain started to rise from the ground, I was enjoying the view from the top; tiny buildings all with brownish orange roofs with many shades of green around them. As they were hiding out beneath the clouds to let the sun to finally shine into the plane, it was an adequate moment to open my laptop and write down my final perception of my trip to England, which was short indeed but engraved unforgettable memories of what she let me to discover about her and the very special people she is hosting.

Most of the morning papers had something about attack to Iran in their questioning titles. The fellow who was giving me the boarding pass was asking me if I was scared going back to Iran considering the situation!! Standing in a queue to put my bag in the scan machine, I was confronted with a polite guy with a big smile asking me to come for a bit of an X-Ray body scan if possible (I think he meant I should!). May be one of my bones had uranium radiation!

London Tube (subway), A moving exhibition of diversity.

You can not afford loosing your way here through this very complicated yet simple maze of London underground train and as they call it, Tube. For this tube to not get punctured, there is a constant flow of people from all over the world. In one very amusing instant, Mr. Behi entered one wagon from the ending and as there were not many standing people, he managed to look around and to guess who is who: A man with a south European gesture, holding a huge guitar case, reading some notes at the same time, A virtually British gentleman composing music, A middle-aged business person (with that very formal dressing) browsing the prints of a presentation, A black guy standing on the side wearing headphones and moving hips! (You choose the type of Music) and finally an Italian couple, giving each other a big hug. This amazing diversity is indeed one of the attractions of metropolitan cities.

"Today, Iran remains the world's primary state sponsor of terror?" How dare you?

In his recent State of the union, president Bush has asserted this very tuff statement about Iran and in his words, he pretended as he was talking about the government not the people by addressing to Iranian people that "US stands with you in your road to liberty". Well let's define standing shall we? Does he know that this image he is making of Iranian people seriously affects the citizens of Iran all around the world? Did he stand with people when they were working for reforms enthusiastically? Bush actually stands only with those Iranians who want to get revenge and get their rights by gun. Iranians around him are those who have been in exile since 25 years ago and they have no idea what is good for Iran now. The only thing they know is that they like regime change and their willingness to take revenge from the current government, is not sending any positive message that such change can bring liberty, freedom of speech etc. Bush calls Iran the biggest terrorist while speaks mildly with Saudi Arabia where most of the terrorists are coming from. Where females are under extreme pressure, where they chop off your head for a misdemeanor. Where women cannot drive! He urges Pakistan gratefully while the idea of "Jehadism" has more supporters than a far more educated nation of Iran.
