Iranian future; Answer is clear. What is the question?

First of all, Mr. Behi is delighted to see that his blog is actually being read by some people! He thanks those who continuously track the posts and leave their comments. The previous post of “Orange revolution in Ukraine” received two very opposite comments. Many of the fellow Iranians now agree with “Hawkpilot” that the only way to treat Iranian government is to attack it with military. Hawkpilot strongly supports using artillery for gaining freedom. Let Mr.Behi to share his experince of 1979 revolution in Iran. The former king of Iran was very powerful. He was the biggest power in the middle-east, rich from the money of oil, his investments on western industries and more than all, freindship with the US. He made one very drastic mistake! Calling his thoughts the best and prisoning the other thoughts. At that time, he had two major oppositions: The comonists and the religious groups. The opposition ideas had many flaws but because they became forbidden, many of the people became interested to know “What they are that are forbidden?”. The totaliterism of king’s system caused these unmature theories to transform into dreams of many of the oppositions. If kings would let them to talk and their ideas to be discussed, not much clue would remain for overwhrowing his system. When people started uprising, they knew what they did not want but no one had a clear picture of what should be next. The historical weak point of Iranians that they like a leader to follow him rather than relying on their total willingness, led them to the point that they belived the nice promises of the Islamists. The islamists hated Kings regiem so much that they started clearing the signs of his system by extreme brutality and executing many of the high ranking talents and prisoning many more. The nice revolution that sratted with minimum killings, turned into a bloodshed. Eight years of bloody war with Iraq was the worst to happen for democracy as the regiem felt no reason to listen to “the freedom of thoughts” requests because of the war time situation.
The problem now is

Orange revolution in Ukraine. Lessons for Iran

Yushchenko wins Ukraine election

Mr.Behi was amazed tracking the events in Ukraine and the way people of this country insisted on their rights and did not fall back and called for their will. Tired of living under the shadow of Russo's GOD father, they are now calling for a new voice. Mr.Behi watched the scenes of jubilation in the streets of Kiev and the passion of people. Those, from their face you could not guess that they have spent Many freezing nights in tents protesting against the previous round of election results. Congratulations to the people of Ukraine and all those who fight for their legal rights.
Thinking of the last parliamentary election in Iran, Mr.Behi was thinking what would happen if people of Iran would act like what happened in Kiev. It was not possible for many reasons specially the fact that if you do so, you can be badly beaten by police and leader's Melissa forces and your whole life can be affected severely. By writing these lines, Mr.Behi has already walking towards the mouth of the dragon....

"The biggest hope for People of Iran at the moment is to be able to say "NO" without fear"

Chris De Burgh, The road to freedom

If you are a fan of him, you can not afford missing this...

The Road To Freedom

I feel the wind blowing through my doorway,
It's telling me that the summer's gone,
And the winter waits in shadow, waiting with the storm;

I am old and my bones are weary,
And my son he is all I have,
But he has gone to fight for freedom, leaving with my heart;

All my life I have loved this land, worked it with my hands,
But can this freedom send the rain when seed is in the ground,
Can this freedom heal the pain and bring my boy back to me again?
Oh oh oh....

I watched them sail from the rocks below me,
'Twas like the sea in its endless rage,
Many fall on the road to freedom, dying on the stones;

All my life I have loved this land, worked it with my hands,
But can your freedom send the rain when seed is in the ground,
Can your freedom heal the pain and bring my boy back to me again?
Oh oh oh....

Late last night, as the world was sleeping, I dreamed my boy,
He was calling out, 'cos he was lost in some dark forest, and
Snow was falling down, falling on the ground......ooh.....

Yalda, Celebrating the clamp down of long nights

Tonight is Yalda, the longest night of the year in the northern hemisphere. Historically, this night is celebrated in Iran as the moment where the long nights start to shorten. People prepare special food and drink for the night and most of them gather together in the house of the eldest member of their family where they eat watermelon and nuts and chat for hours. Mr. Behi has caught a bad cold since last night and he doubts if he can go anywhere. Happy Yalda for all those who are after brighter and longer days in their lives.

Treaty against landmines and Kyoto agreement

Mr. Behi's previous posts about the two international agreements that US opposes, received two comments. Mr. Behi thanks both of them for their comments. One of the comments came from an American fellow in uniform that provided a big picture for necessity of using landmines in defense shields. It is good to hear that US is spending it's money creating mines which may disinfect after a period of time. Well, this is good to worry about North Korea not to dig the borders (in fact South Korea has to be caring about this not the US!) but at the same time, the biggest worry is for the civilians that their lives are seriously in treat by the left behind mines. US will not handover the latest technology of smart mines to the rebels and poor governments of Africa, will it? But I admire this point of view and no of can feel a soldier in the battle. However, that precious money is to be spent on smart mines can build detectors for sensing the North Koreans digging! Sadly in our world, the best technology first goes in the warfare. But let's face it, that is way it goes. I have used GPS many times and know that it was built firstly for military purposes and Geophysics as a Science bloomed as US spent lots of money for it to discover soviets hidden nuclear tests.
About the Kyoto treaty on the other hand, I invite the recommender to see the big picture. We are in the same boat and what we are doing is to prevent that what you mentioned as jumping the cliff. Greenhouse gases are real and their effects are sensible these days. The effects on the economy may look high but when you loose thriving in harmony with nature, you will need to spend a lot higher to fix the effects when they knock at your door. See what happened to the usage of DDT. Once it was considered very effective, economically valid material for fighting against the bugs. Among the producers, the idea of leaving it because of the environmental effects was not acceptable. But the outcome of vast usage of DDT in destruction of the friendly insects, forced us to finally spend lot more money to find an alternative. If I am the manager of a Coal mine, I will be against Kyoto because I see I loose my profit. Short term loss can be hard to accept but guess what amount of money shall be spend years later for curing skin cancer patients who got the disease because of the thinning of ozone layer? Like making smart mines to prevent civilians to dies, spending money is also good for finding alternative ways of protecting the planet. This is indeed expected for the very developed country like the US. Hope for a better world for all.

Dreams of Persian

Mossadegh - A New Rock Opera
It is amazing to hear this rock opera about a nobel man who had great dreams for Iran. Mosadegh was a pioneer prime minister in 1953 who took out the asset of oil from the hands of Britons and declared it national asset. His government was overthrown by a cope planned by CIA and that even became the source for future Anti-Americanism in Iran. This song is dedicated to him and there are useful links in this website to the related article about the event.

Chemical Ali in Trial

Iraq judges quiz 'Chemical' Ali

If US invasion of Iraq has one point to be backed up, it was the clamp down of the Saddam's nasty system. Chemical Ali and Saddam really look alike, don't you think? The bad thing about the news agencies is that they always repeat that Ali was responsible for chemical bombing of the Kurds but forget to mention about thousands of Iranian victims of Iraq's chemical warfare. Many are still suffering from the effects and every now and then we hear of of them dies.
